Yesterday, (10/09/18); CWJFD had another busy day. Started off the morning with two EMS runs, S68 responded to both. During the afternoon, a call was received for a large branch on power lines and in the roadway on Hale Rd; C2302 & R63 responded, and cleared the scene once DP&L arrived. At around 1600 hours; a call came in for a two car MVA with unknown injuries on Pansy Rd. S68, B64, R61, and R63 responded. Upon arrival, units found two vehicles, one in the roadway and another in a ditch; both had heavy front end damage to both vehicles. All occupants were out of one vehicle and another pt was partially trapped in the other vehicle. Crews worked quickly to extricate the victim by removing the passenger side door with E-hydraulic tools. Based on the extent of the damage during the crash and the injuries/symptoms of one pt, the order was given to have MedFlight respond to the incident location. MedFlight arrived to the location and landed in an adjacent soybean field. One pt was flown to a local trauma hospital, the patient was stable at time of flight, and expected to make a full recovery. All other patients had minor injuries, which were treated and released on scene. Another great job from the CWJFD crews, and a big thanks to MedFlight, CCSO, and OSHP, for their assistance in the incident!
